So since 2007 I gave up on eating pork for health reasons, and just because I thought I could live without it. I’m not a huge bacon fan, and even if I was, there’s turkey bacon, which is 5x bigger, and alot healthier. And for the past (almost two years) I’ve been pretty successful. There have only been a couple of times where pork has accidentally entered my mouth. But I was coerced into thinking that it was chicken or something.

(names have been changed for protection)

Oh, and when I went to New York, I ate pork because I wanted to see what all the hot dog hoop-la was all about.

And right now I’m hungry as fuck and there’s no food in the house except for Porto’s guava cheese rolls ( I already ate two, any more and I’ll feel sick). So I looked in the freezer to see what treasures I could find and I found CPK frozen sicilian pizza which is adorned with basically every type of sausage in the Italian world.

Right now I’m waiting for the oven to preheat so I can eat this shit, because frankly, I’m hungry. And I don’t think my stomach is gonna discriminate.

Kiss of Life (extended version).

I hope you don’t get offended but, this whole weekend I’ve been hearing alot of compliments along the lines of “Dang Tasha, you’re good, you sound black!” or “You sound black!” or “You might as well be black!”

The truth be told, I am filipina. I am not black.
Filipinas got soul too, like you wouldn’t believe. I am most humbled by the talent I have seen in these past few days. Best believe that I feel more inspired than ever.

Below is a video of my performance from November 20th, 2008– the Talent Showcase, as well as lyrics for you to sing along! haha

(verse 1)
I need some piece of mind you need to let me off the hook
I don’t want to end up just another name in your black book
Baby can’t you see that you’re playing me?
I want to end this badly
I’m madly falling
You’ve been my obsession
I need to learn my lesson
How did this even begin?
Someone help me

I wanna know
Do you enjoy leading me on?
Baby baby

I wanna know
Will you enjoy breaking my heart?
Baby baby

(Verse 2)
You need to tell me everything that is inside your head
I don’t think you should tell your girlfriend everything that you have said to me
You’re in a relationship
And I can’t take all this
It’s getting complicated
It’s eating me, release me

Please let me know what you wanna do
I’m so tired of thinking about you
We both know what we’re doing ain’t right
Let’s just end this right now
We can end this tonight

It’s a hormone warzone
Fighting with our clothes on, it’s so strong
I’m wearing my tight jeans
Looking like a night queen
Up in the club scene, swagga is so mean–oh
I’m Mama T, in the club tipsy
In the back VIP you came up and talked to me
We’ll conversate and have a date
And maybe we’ll collaborate
And meditate about
How I wanna spend time with you but surprise
To my very eyes, you gotta girl by your side
And still you tried, you womanizer
And have you heard?
I ain’t into that work, Yes I do flirt
Listen to my words
Just don’t get it twisted
Just in case you missed it
I’m putting my fist up in the air
And waving my hand like I just don’t care

Once thank you again for all of your support and all the love and warmth.

I jumped up feelin my highs
and my lows
in my soul

This morning I woke up feeling revitalized, reenergized, and renewed.

I have an overwhelming sense that big and wonderful things are in store for some of my friends, as well as myself. And if you happen to be reading this blog, I sense that big and wonderful things are in store for you as well, because it is more than coincidence that you were drawn to read this message. Part of it was free-will, but some of it is destiny.

I sense (and you probably feel it too) that big changes and upgrades are coming, and you will achieve many things that you have not thought you could before. So if you’ve always wanted to try something new, now is the time. You are more than likely to be successful.

But be mindful, you will be led to a challenge, and you will reach a  part of your journey that will be exceedingly difficult. It will be meant to attempt to break you, and will try to convince you to give up. But don’t be discouraged, and trust your heart, for this storm will pass.

The soul of the universe is conspiring for your success.

Make the right choices and be in tune with yourself, heart, mind, and soul. For they know what will make you happiest.

Because in the end, as black sheep says

Good luck and may God Bless you on this wonderful journey.
Soon the new day.. breaks the dawn

this blog is dedicated to Julian Alexander
May your soul R.I.P.

I woke up this morning at an unusual time on a Wednesday morning. Instead of the regular 5 a.m., I was able to sleep in, I would be making house calls with an RN. For a nursing student, every minute you can spend sleeping is a luxury, a gift from God. I already knew it was going to be a good day.

And then I remembered.. My God, today is the first day of a new revolution.

Last night during the elections it was incredibly windy. The howling gusts of wind seemed appropriate for what our country is about to face. Even the seasons seem to be collaborating and making way..

For this..

A new day and beautiful day.

I sense big things on the come up!
As Mos Def says

“You better get your rest, because the next day comin!”

Until next time,

November 4th 2008.
Barack Obama has been elected the President of the United States.

I decided to finally write a blog about this epic event in U.S. history, for the very fact that it is most
indefinitely, most incredibly.. EPIC.

I will continue to pray for President Obama and that God gives him guidance and courage to lead this
country into safety, stability, and harmony.

God Bless America.
